TOP 5 series is back after short vacation.

This week is our guest Slovenian singer Nina Strnad.

She graduated from Ljubljana Music and Ballet Secondary School, Department of jazz and popular music under the mentorship of Mrs Nada Žgur. In the past, she experimented with different music genres and among others cooperated with Hanna Preuss, RTV Slovenia Big Band, Big Band DOM, Jazz Sacral Choir Alfa+Omega (who performed with such names as Emil Spanyi, Heinz von Hermann, Renato Chicco), Peter Mihelich, Primož Grašič, Jure Pukl, Uroš Perić, IgorMatkovič.

n 2009, she received the award for the best soloist at the 4th National gathering of Big Bands and Dance Orchestras.

In 2009,  she recorded a live album Moj Piran  with the Big Band DOM with jazz standards, which was released by the Publishing and Record Label RTV Slovenia.

In 2010, she represented Slovenia in the European Jazz Orchestra, and performed with them in Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria and Slovenia.

She performed as a soloist at several festivals in Slovenia and abroad, such as Džjezz Celje, festival Bled, Jazz na Gornjem trgu, Festival Velenje, Ausseer Jazzfrühling, Bonaire Heineken Jazz Festival.
